I'm having the same problems via a wired router or dialup...I can acces the
internet no problem it's just I can't open a URL no matter which one I type in. I checked the internet options and can't find anything that would fix the problem ...I tried reseting it through the advanced tab and still the same thing. It's more likely something that changed in the Connections tab than anything. For example, your symptom could be a sign that you are configured to use a proxy but no proxy is available. Etc. For more clues try using the Diagnose Connections... tool. A more comprehensive tool is Network Diagnostics. I don't use your OS so I can't tell if it is still available on Vista or the best way to start it. One simply described method is: Run... netsh.exe diag gui In XP that spawns a cmd.exe window which in turn spawns a Help and Support Center window open at the Network Diagnostics page.
