i tried sending this once, but it seemed like it i got an error msg and im
not sure it went through, so im sending again...sorry if its a repeat... my wife bought a compaq impresario pc a few weeks ago (intel pentium dual core desktop processor e2160; windows vista home premium with/avec service pack 1.) my 3 yr old was goofing around on it, pushing buttons on the keyboard and such, and now the screen has "shifted" about an inch and a half to the left - even the wallpaper. so now whenever we use it there is text on the left margin that cannot be seen - very frustrating. can anyone help with suggestions? i tried to google some tech support but it was pretty expensive for what im hoping is a simple issue. thanks -dL |

Hi DL,
Can you not adjust your screen with the Monitor? If not and if it hadn't been that long ago and nothing new like Updates have been installed then I'd try a System Restore and select a time just before this happen. -- All the best, SG Is your computer system ready for Vista? https://winqual.microsoft.com/hcl/ "dL" wrote in message ... i tried sending this once, but it seemed like it i got an error msg and im not sure it went through, so im sending again...sorry if its a repeat... my wife bought a compaq impresario pc a few weeks ago (intel pentium dual core desktop processor e2160; windows vista home premium with/avec service pack 1.) my 3 yr old was goofing around on it, pushing buttons on the keyboard and such, and now the screen has "shifted" about an inch and a half to the left - even the wallpaper. so now whenever we use it there is text on the left margin that cannot be seen - very frustrating. can anyone help with suggestions? i tried to google some tech support but it was pretty expensive for what im hoping is a simple issue. thanks -dL |

SG -
thank you! after fooling around with the monitor buttons again (i had tried it b4 unsuccessfully) i found the setting that reset the monitor to its original factory settings. saved me 50-100 bucks from tech support! these forums are a great tool. -dL "SG" wrote: Hi DL, Can you not adjust your screen with the Monitor?
