why does my main memory on my hard drive keep on going down
It went from 204Gb To 196Gb
It did it do this with windows XP
What can I do

A little nit. Hard drive is "Storage", not Memory. (Flash memory can
be used as either ( Example BIOS ) ).

To your question.
Most likely, it is additional "Restore Points" that get generated
during program additions/updates/deletions. There is a control to
adjust the % of drive usage (IIRC 10% is default)

You are emptying the trash g?
