Somehow I find scheduling is useless for consumers because people just turn off the computer before they go to bed. And how is the computer going to wake up at 3 to do defraging? I know Vista might change things this time but defaulting things to Sleep, but even then it might be better to set it to auto-defrag at say... "Sleep (Fine-Tune)" You know in WinXP SP2 when Autoupdates are available, a little shield icon appears on the top right corner of the Turn Off button? How about that for maintanence? Hmmm, that's acually a pretty good idea. I always put my computer in sleep mode as I just don't want it on all the time. So it's rarely on at scheduled maintainance. I like it! |
