Last night, Diskeeper posted a new beta of Diskeeper 10 Professional for
Vista. It is available for free download from their website. Sigh -- life is tough for these companies. They now claim compatibility with Vista RC1 Build 5600 32-bit. I can't vouch for it. My 32-bit machine is running build 5728 and the new Diskeeper aborts the install on that computer with a message that I am not running a supported version of Vista. The only system I have running 5600 is 64-bit so I can't even try it on that one. Still using Auslogic Disk Defrag on both systems, but I *MISS* Diskeeper! |

Not good news. I didn't realize it wouldn't run on X64. Glad I didn't
try to install. I guess I need to wait some more. I have build 7728 installed, both X86 and X64. -- ------------------------------------------- Walter B walterb[at]tampabay[dot]rr[dot]com ------------------------------------------- "rblacher" wrote in message ... When Vista had installed I tried DK9H. Got a MMC error and selected the option to ignore. DK9H seems to run absolutely fine and Vista hasn't shown up any issues yet. -- Conor I'm really a nice guy. Yeah, I've heard that works. The problem for me is that, for various
reasons, I couldn't "upgrade" on either of the two test machines here. I had to do a clean install. That wiped out Diskeeper Pro 9 and you cannot re-install it once Vista is installed (it wants to replace the MMC which would be a disaster). "Conor" wrote in message t... It clearly states on the Diskeeper website "Diskeeper 10 Professional now
provides support for Windows® Vista CTP (builds 5600 RC1, 5270, 5308, 5342, 5365, 5381, and 5384) with a free public beta." therefore it's no good for later builds. -- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP2 x 2 + Vista Beta P4 D865GBFL HT @ 3.0ghz 2.0gb DDR 700gb HD ATI Radeon 9550 Graphics Creative Soundblaster Audigy 4 Audio "Conor" wrote in message t...
