I am running windows Vista 32 bit, and everything was working great until I
uninstalled Norton 360. Following uninstall, my DVD drive no longer worked (I corrected that issue) and my network no longer works. I am wired into a router, and also wireless on the same computer. Bother worked well, until the uninstall. Now, I can't even see the router, even though I'm wired to it. The wireless connection successfully connects to the router (or so it seems), but also cannot see the router. I suspect there is a registry error (or key corruption), but cannot find which keys are corrupt. Has anyone ever had this problem? Again, I corrected the DVD issue, but cannot identify the network issue. |

Posting the result of ipconfig /all may help.

I would, but my system is re-loading windows for the 2nd time. I had
re-loaded it once, and it was running well, but then I uninstalled norton again (it came pre-loaded), and ended up with the same result. I thought there might be some relationship to SYMTDI, but cannot see any interference in the registry. I will leave Norton installed this time, and try to determine where it's control resides. Running the following in a command prompt would likely have fixed the post
Norton removal problem. netsh winsock reset http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/0...og-corruption/ -- "Jason" wrote in message ... You may want to download Norton Removal Tool

Thanks for the help. I went into the registry and removed the association
between SYMTDI and DependOnService... it released the network adapters and all is well. I had the same issue after uninstalling Norton. I tried the netsh command,
but that didn't work. However, the Norton uninstall tool referenced above did work in case any one else runs into the same issue. "Jason" wrote: Thanks for the help.
