Help - grovel grovel
I have a network of several machines that I backup to a networked 300GB external drive attached to a Windows XP home machine. With the exception of the newly updated Vista machine (it has a dual boot setup) I have no problem. No matter what I do I get a 0x80070534 error when I try to set the back up facility to connect with the network drive. Can someone please help me rectify this so that I may back up this machine ? 0x80070534 is ERROR_NONE_MAPPED. The developer suspects you are providing an
account from the machine that is going to be backed up. You should provide an account on the machine where the share is. Also, which edition of Vista are you running? Take a look at our blog post at http://blogs.technet.com/filecab/arc...27/458871.aspx for more information about backing up to network shares and Vista Home edition limitations. -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Jill,
Your developer is wrong in his suspiscion, however the answer was supplied by yourself in the link :- "A network share on a computer running Windows XP Home Edition is not supported as a backup location because this edition does not support setting permissions on the shares, nor does it support authenticating as a specific account over the network. " So I will use the alternate boot operating system for the backup, Thanks for your help Trev "Jill Zoeller [MSFT]" wrote: 0x80070534 is ERROR_NONE_MAPPED.
