Default Vista Running slugish

If noticed that Vista seems to run sluggish at various times no matter what
is being used at the time. I'm using an Intel pentium 3.0GHz with 1 GB of ram
and a Geforce 6600 gt 128MB video card...

I find that some ofthe system sounds are very sluggish and slow to respond,
like when double clicking icons in explorer that usual click sound doesn't
happen till 3 or 4 second after I've browsed to the new directory, as well
when using the sound volume bar when I click on a new volume lvl it take
several seconds to play the defualt sound.

As well, when browsing several directories the responce time varies, one
time it'll be perfectly quick and responsive another time it will be slugish
and not very responsive. At time when I don't even have any other
applications running... I'm not sure why this is.

If you did a upgrade from XP to RC-1, or I clean install? I did the upgrade,
my HP-M7470N was very sluggish. I did a clean install, WOW WHAT A
DIFFERENCE!
