I'd like to suggest that terminating applications is taken more seriously. I
find that whenever a program is not responding it takes far too long to end the process... This has always been a problem in windows. Program start to hang... several moments pass... the header says not responding.... more time passes, you try to close the program using the X... nothing happens.... more time passes... you ctrl + alt+ del end process... it asks if your sure... click yes... more time passes..... finally a pop up says this programs not responding.... click end now.... more time passes then finnally it starts to end the task (sometimes) in vista I've noticed at times it never actually ends the process. Personally when I want to end a non responsive program I want it closed right after I say kill the process. This is why I would like to suggest that microsoft impliment a more power end process feature that will end a process instantly without waiting around forever, linux has this option available where when you terminate a program itterminates no matter what the programs doing or what resources it's holding on to at the time. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. I can't agree more strongly.... If the app is "not responding" I should not
have to go thru multiple confirmation screens to shut it down. This has always been one of my pet "Jambon" wrote: I'd like to suggest that terminating applications is taken more seriously. I agree its annoying but I can usually kill them just by clicking the cancel
button instead of the other one. "Jambon" wrote: I'd like to suggest that terminating applications is taken more seriously. It's probably the only facet I don't like about Vista. You don't have
control over your programs. I've had several things jam up and I couldn't do anything about shutting them down. It's real common with Counter Strike Source. When that jams, it leaves the screen black and the only thing you can do is look at the program not responding (you can't end the task) or shut down the computer all together. It is quite annoying. Give us the power over our computer again, please! "Jambon" wrote: I'd like to suggest that terminating applications is taken more seriously.
