Someone please help! I'm running Vista build 5744 and trying to run Google
Earth. Every time I try to start it, it gives me a message, "Google Earth has
encountered a problem and must close" or something like that. If anyone has
gotten it to work, PLEASE tell me how and what to do!

Here are the steps I took to get Google Earth to work on Vista RC2 build
5744:
1) Downloaded Google Earth from Google.
2) Clicked on file to install Google Earth
3) Clicked on icon in Start Menu to start Google Earth
4) Done!

HTH.

Have you tried the "Set DirectX" or "Set OpenGL" shortcuts GE
typically creates? The only times I've seen it fail to start at all,
choosing the other option made it work.

Sometimes if you ignore the complaint dialog instead of agreeing to
have it close, GE will go ahead and work without any changes.

Thanks! I set it to DirectX mode, and it's working great!
