Default Cisco VPN on Vista not working anymore

I have a windows vista laptop. It connects to a linksys wrt300n router,
which in turn connects to my dsl modem (speedstream 5200). DSL and internet
connectivity is all working fine. I was able to establish my cisco vpn
connection and interact with the remote machines up until apr 2, first thing
in the morning. Today, I can still establish the cisco vpn connection, its
just that I cannot get to anything on the remote network including the
default gateway for the remote network.

Please let me know what other information is need to help troubleshoot this
issue?

Note... Windows firewall is disabled, firewall is disabled in the wrt300n and
firewall is disabled in the speedstream5200

Default Cisco VPN on Vista not working anymore

I cannot ping the default gateway or the DNS/WINS servers. In fact I cannot
ping anything except the IP address bound to the VPN adapter.

I would think at the very least I should be able to ping the default
gateway, because both the default gateway and the IP address bound to the VPN
adapter are both on the same subnet.

Even though the configuration looks correct, its like TCPIP isn't working or
IPSEC isn't working.

For security reason, the Cisco engineer may block the ping.

I have a windows vista laptop. It connects to a linksys wrt300n
router,
which in turn connects to my dsl modem (speedstream 5200). DSL and
internet
connectivity is all working fine. I was able to establish my cisco
vpn
connection and interact with the remote machines up until apr 2,
first
thing
in the morning. Today, I can still establish the cisco vpn
connection,
its
just that I cannot get to anything on the remote network including
the
default gateway for the remote network.

Please let me know what other information is need to help
troubleshoot
this
issue?

Default Cisco VPN on Vista not working anymore

Got it... but its not only ping that isn't working. tracert not working.
pingpath not working. dns not working. wins not working. A couple of
servers that I used to rdp into no longer respond... I am positive there is
something not right with the configuration on my machine that is causing the
problem.

Anything else you can point me to?

For security reason, the Cisco engineer may block the ping.

I cannot ping the default gateway or the DNS/WINS servers. In fact I
cannot
ping anything except the IP address bound to the VPN adapter.

I would think at the very least I should be able to ping the default
gateway, because both the default gateway and the IP address bound to the
VPN
adapter are both on the same subnet.

Even though the configuration looks correct, its like TCPIP isn't working
or
IPSEC isn't working.

Is the remote network IP 192.168.124.0/24? Why do the default gateway and
DNS servers are in the different subnet? Can you ping them?
