Default Print & Spool Multiple Pages

When I try to spool & print multiple copies of the same file I have to
print
only a few copies at a time - otherwise things slow down or lock up
completely. I had this problem with XP (never addressed it) but I can
take the same file to my 98/Me machine and print almost without limits.
On a Pentium 2 with ME and a mere 396 megs ram, I have had four printers
running on USB with different files in different programs and was able
to cue up hundreds of copies simultaniuosly with no trouble at all. (ah
the good ole' days). Now I have trouble just spooling just 1 printer
with 50 copies of a 10 meg file. What changed from ME to XP to Vista.
Also, It doesn't matter what printer I use - HP5000, Epson C series,
Cannon ip series. Its an OS problem. HELP.

It's possibly a driver issue but it's not an OS issue, I have 6 Canons and a
Lexmark and I can happily print multiple copies on each.

I would probably uninstall and reinstall each one and get the latest drivers
for each.
