2 Vista SP1 machines. G1 and T1 names
I can view view shares and ping T1 from G1 but from T1 I don't see G1 in network applet and I can't ping G1 but G1 can reach the web and ping the internal Linksys router. Both machines have just been reloaded in the last month. I have even gone as far as to enable to host file on both machines and static ips. - Firewall is not on - Network discovery is on - file sharing is on This is driving me crazy. It is almost like the router is blocking traffic from G1 to the rest of the home network??? |

Let's look at logs from "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from each computer. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (Download browstat, and run everything in Administrator mode): http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/0...#AskingForHelp -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://networking.nitecruzr.net/ |
