Cusor disappears

When I start up Windows my cursor isn't there. The only way I get it is
restarting in F8 and go start in last good configuration. Then when I sign in
I get a found new hardware for a mouse and I don't use a mouse and haven't
attempted to install one. Any help would be appreciated.
