Hi,
I've been using my XP laptop happily for a few years, connecting wirelessly to my 3com router. Last week a bought a new laptop which had Vista installed. It appears to connect to my wireless network ok, but as soon as I then switch on my old XP laptop, the Vista machine loses its connection. Not just the network connection, but fails to find the wireless signal at all. If I plug a cable into the Vista laptop and leave the XP one on wireless, I can get both on the network. Any thoughts on why XP wrecks my Vista wireless? Thanks Simon |

Hi
Check the IP numbers and make sure that the Vista is assigned its own Wireless IP. Jack (MVP-Networking). "Simon" wrote in message ... The old laptop had a built-in B adaptor, but I was using a plug-in G card. When I pulled out the G card and enabled the B adaptor, everything was fine. I'm not entirely sure why that particular card (a 3com one - can't remember the model at the moment) would completely destroy the wireless networking capability of the new Vista laptop. |
