Default Microsoft automatic update

Everytime that i install an update for vista, media player, or anything
having to do with security, it fails to install. i have not been able to
update anything since about two months ago. the only error message that i get
is 8007371B. i have tried to look for answers to this message, or what it
actually means, but i have been unsuccesful. can anyone please help me out?

What antivirus program do you have? I fit's Norton, Please get rid of
it.
