You can just run the Msconfig tool.
Click on Start, then in the start search box, type "msconfig" and press Enter. Click on the Startup tab. -- Vista Home Premium 32 SP1 http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "Drew Leyda" wrote in message ... I use to go into the registry to remove startup programs. Can I do that in Vista ? TIA Drew |

I've read, tho I don't know the rationale, that it is better to do that via
Windows Defender. "Dave" wrote in message ... You can just run the Msconfig tool. Click on Start, then in the start search box, type "msconfig" and press Enter. No matter how experienced you are, there is always the possibility of a mistake, and some mistakes can leave you with an unbootable computer. A safer, and therefore, better way to do this is with a GUI-based program. MSCONFIG and Windows Defender are available, as well as third-party programs like WinPatrol and Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

It is possible to manage Startup programs via Windows Defender, but it seems somewhat awkward to me. -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~Benjamin Franklin Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do. ~Bertrand Russell The philosopher has never killed any priests, whereas the priest has killed a great many philosophers. ~ Denis Diderot |

try this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\curre nt version\run\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\curr ent version\run\ do it with AAA skills or your PC might totally crippled. it is also a good idea to backup your registry file before editing.
