Default network troubleshooting

I have Sony Viao windows vista laptop. I always used to connect to the
internet using my netgear router. But for some reason, my laptop is unable
to connect with the existing network. When I tried to connect with my
wireless network, windows diagnose box appeared and told me to type the
correct network security key for my network. However, I have never changed
my network security key, and did retype in the correct key. But it still
won't connect. the laptop was able to connect to a non-security enabled
wireless network in my range successfully. And I checked to see that my
network adaptor was working properly. All the other laptops at my home are
all working (connecting to the router/network). I don't know if this is a
problem with my laptop or the network itself.
