Default ReApply SP1 in Vista?

According to SFC /SCANNOW I have a number of corrupt system files (such as
autochk). For some reason my restore points only go back a few hours. IS
there not some way to REAPPLY SP1 to get the appropriate system files.
Otherwise I will have to do a repair install (assuming that is still
possible in Vista) & then reapply SP1
