I live at my parents' but have my own internet connection. I still need to be connected to their network so the family can access files on my computer anytime, and I can use the shared printer on that network. To solve things I bought an extra ethernet controller so now I have the following Network controller built-in to motherboard = connected to my personal router New network controller (PCI) = connected to family router. Looking into the Network and Sharing Center, both connections have access to the internet, but what I would like to do somehow, is only allow internet access on my own router, and limit the connection on the new controller to "local only". Anyone know how to do that? I've looked all over, and all I can find is ways of FIXING the "local only problem", which is exactly the opposite of what i would like to do. -- rosah |

Thank you, that was very helpful. I set a static IP address on the "local only" network connection and set the default gateway to a made up 1.1.1.1. Now I have access to all computers on that network but not the internet, and then the internet on my own router ![]() -- rosah |
