Windows cannot connect the printer
The specified printmonitor is unknown This is message I geting every time I try to install network printer Printer is HP DeskJet 9800 and running on WinXP Pro SP2 on USB port I use Windows Vista Ultimate RC2 Help

this is what I did. #1) control panelprinteradd a printer localuse existing portpich your Deskjet 9800 driver in HP-it's there. #2) install #3) once it's installed, right clic itpropertiesportsadd port #4) add portname it #5) i used this format \\computer\printer where the computer is the name of the remote that has the printer attached;and printer is the name of the printer in the XP pc. Both XP and Vista need printer sharing on-but you prolly now that. Works great. Jeff "Mijo" wrote in message ...
