The Lexmark owner with this problem ( a senior) finally got back to me.
Using remote assistance, I tried the copyfilename \\XPmachine\printershare command from his Vista laptop (wireless to Belkin router) (XP machine is wired to the Belkin, Lexmark 8350 AIO set up on this computer). When the command is executed from a Vista laptop admin cmd window using a file saved as a print saved to a file (*.prn), the printer prints a blank page. Alan Morris [MSFT] wrote: The USB port speed should not make any difference. When you create a Local Port using \\XPmachine\printershare you basically copy the file to the other machine Can you print to file on the Vista machine then copy the print file to \\XPmachine\printershare? you will need to open a command prompt copy filename \\XPmachine\printershare |
