-- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP3 x 2/Vista Ultimate SP1 Triple Boot "Curious" wrote in message ... Just tell NVIDIA you want the driver for a 8500 for example and then it will down the load the correct driver installation file. there are not different installation files based on the card you have just different installation files for the different OS releases. "Peter" wrote in message ... Yes, I discovered that all I had to do was reduce the gamma. I still cannot get them to install in Vista...weird, even fails when I replace the inst.inf file.. There's a couple of ongoing discussions in the nvidia Geforce forum. -- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP3 x 2/Vista Ultimate SP1 Triple Boot "Curious" wrote in message ... The new NVIDIA drivers have more ability for you to set color and related settings then the older ones. Therefore you may need to evaluate all of the different setting options now available in the new Nvidia control panel. "Peter" wrote in message ... I tried that route and it gave the same problem in Vista. In XP they installed OK but I had to rollback as the screen had a "washed-out" look. I'll stick with the tried and true December drivers. -- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP3 x 2/Vista Ultimate SP1 Triple Boot "John Speros" wrote in message ... I also received the error using the NVidia setup program that the drivers were not for my 7800GS. I got them to install anyway by going to the Display Driver in Device Manager and pointing to the directory where the NVidia setup program extracted the driver files. |

I just heard from the horse's mouth. The US release for Vista (available
only using step 2 at the download page) is missing a few inf files for certain boards, so the UK release is OK. The US one should be released sometime today, hopefully. -- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP3 x 2/Vista Ultimate SP1 Triple Boot "Cal Bear '66" wrote in message ... Yes, I have a 17" Planar and a 19" Gateway LCD monitors.
The display desktop color settings work ok. And the video and tv color settings seem to work ok, but I leave it set to use the video player settings. -- Vista Home Premium 32 SP1 http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "N Brown" wrote in message ...
