I have Vista 32 bit with SP1. All updates through 5-12-08. My wireless
networks were working just fine up until Monday the 12th. Then I noticed that the Wireless Network Options was missing under "Network and Sharing Center". The network adaptor is working properly according to Vista but I reloaded the drivers anyway and have a good installation. The computer tells me that there are no networks available but I know there are and the other computers in my office connect flawlessly. As well I could connect at home just fine up until the same time. Dell says that the only way to fix the problem is to re-install Vista. This is really not an option. If I use the ethernet cable the computer hooks up just fine. Dell also said that this is happening all over the country. Has anyone heard of this and does anyone know of a fix without re-installing the operating system? |

I started the computer with a clean boot and still no options for configuring
wireless options. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to no avial. Dell has said they have seen this problem many times and the only solution is to reformat and re-install Vista. This is not an option for me. Any other ideas? Regards, Pat "Robert L. (MS-MVP)" wrote: For troubleshooting, start the Vista with clean boot.
