In Vista, the search results which used to show "In Folder" as a straight
path string in earlier versions is now "last name first," if you will. It gives only the last folder name, with the higher-level path in parentheses behind it. This makes it impossible to sort by path. e.g., the two places where start menu shortcuts are stored under WinXP a C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu C:\Documents and Settings\Loretta\Start Menu I could sort all of the subfolders under my user logon together. Or look at the nested folders in a directory tree "branch." (Remember directories?) Now, with Vista I get this instead: Start Menu (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users) Start Menu (C:\Documents and Settings\Loretta) Which of course sorts all last-level folder names alphabetically. This is useless to me; if I knew what the folder name was, I would have just searched for the folder name. Is there a way to set Vista so that it will give a GOOD folder path? -- Loretta Yeo |
