There is a new version of nero out that works fine with Vista. Try

You can try going back to a restore point before you installed Nero.
Use "Backup and Restore Center", Task: Repair ... using Restore

Hi, Shalako.

Which version of Nero? Which version of Vista?

During the Vista beta, Nero gave me that message when I tried to install it
in several "builds". But Nero 7.5.7.0 installs and runs just as it should
in Vista x64 RTM. I believe there is a later Nero version 7.5.9.0, but I
haven't tried that.

If you don't mention which version of software is giving you trouble, we
might spend a lot of time chasing problems that have already been solved.
:(
