Default Display adapter issue???

Posted this problem a while back in pictures, nothing worked, I then spent
the next week and a half on chat and phone support, actually got elevated to
an actual microsoft tech, case was closed without solution so I thought I
would pick your brains again. Problem: During a photo gallery slide show,
or screensaver set to slideshow, if I have the transitions set to fade, it
gives me extremely choppy fading between photos. If I go into media center
and run a slideshow with the same exact photos, set to pan and scan with fade
transitions, it runs fine, smooth as silk. why would it run fine in media
center slideshow, but stutter so bad in photo gallery slideshow??????

intel 82945G express chipset (with latest driver from intel this month)
vista home premium
2 gig ram
intel core 2 duo 4400

1 other thing, this did not happen until I did the sp1 update, transitions
used to be smooth before that.

Thanks,
Brian
