I have 4 Computers on network running Win Vista Business
One of the computer(lets say COMP1) has got printer shared via USB.I did the sharing by Right Clicking the printer and selected Share. Initally when i connected the printer to the other 3 computers i did \\computername\printer share name,it asked me for the credentials for connecting to COMP1. i gave the local admin credentials for COMP1 and it worked. Ever since then every morning after the other 3 computers reboot inorder to print on the shared printer, i have to go to RUN -- Type the command \\computername\shared printer name and then it prints. I dont even have to Double click on the printer for connecting to it. the Only thing that has to be done is just give the computers the credentials for logging on to COMP1 and then close the dialog box.It prints. Please shed some light on this. |

hi Liju you are getting this problem beacuse you have accessing a shared pinter which is on anonther computer. so everytime you restart the computer what happens is that your use account credintionals are been cleared hence nedding you to reconnect to the printer. what you can do for this is go to control Panel, go to user accounts on the left hand side there will be a option saying manager network passwords click that, say add and add the user account that you are connecting to the printer and save it. this should solve your problem. Hope this helps .. Cheers !! -- john_cena -Shihan Sylvester Pietersz- -(MCP,MCSA,MCSE+Security,MCSE+Messeging- -MCTS,MCITP)- -Systems -::-Engineer / Consultant Trainer- :: |
