Since the 9100 and 9200 cards do not have built in DX9 support ATI would
have to write new Vista MCE compatible drivers that provide the DX9 support in software like they did for MCE and AFAIK they have no intention in doing so since they do not list any 9100 or 9200 chip drivers in their list for VISTA support at their Website. Well, Vista will not run with the full richness of all its functions on such a card - but it will run. E. g., I run - just for fun:-) - Vista RC2 b.5744 on a GeForce 2 MX440 AGP card with 64 MB VRAM - without Aero Glass, of course. I have successfully tried out a Matrox G550, even a G400... (Aero is running on my Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB and on my GeForce 6200 128 MB.) Roy |
