On this page, there is a download that offers to keep the user up-to-date with Vista-compatible products, drivers, etc. After I downloaded it, I saw that the it added a (I think it's called a "Sidebar") to my desktop, with such gadgets as clock, local weather info, etc. But I am not really interested in having a sidebar. I couldn't find anything via control panel uninstall programs. And my questionis how to uninstall the "Download Gadgets" (from the url above). -- My name is Alexis. I am a "tech newbie." I am often befuddled with various aspects of the new Widows Vista OS (and, have considered "downgrading" to XP on this new PC.) Thanks for your help! |

Look in "updates" section on left hand side...maybe in there. If you can identify which file it is, right click on the file name and an "Uninstall" prompt will appear. And my questionis how to uninstall the "Download Gadgets" (from the url above). If you just want to disable it for now from starting when Windows starts, right click on the rectangle with round ends at the top of the sidebar. Select "Properties" and uncheck the "Start when Windows loads" (or something similar). |
