I'm finding that the names of the two computers that I network together, are
to similar and we get confused. Is it difficult to change their names? Will this cause the network to get screwed up? Thanks -- Ed H Windows Vista Home Premium 64-BIT SP1 Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz 4.00 GB RAM 300 GB HDD |

not all. Right click on My ComputerProperties. Click computer name to make

Then reboot it. -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "Ed H" wrote in message ... Hi
In Vista you log to Control Panel/System the entries to change are in the middle of the screen. It is easy to do and if you make a mistake you can change again. http://www.ezlan.net/vista/vs-sys.jpg Click on Change setting. Jack (MVP-Networking). "Ed H" wrote in message ... The new name works fine but the old icon won't go away. Any way to get rid
of it? Thanks Ed H -- Windows Vista Home Premium 64-BIT SP1 Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz 4.00 GB RAM 300 GB HDD "Jack (MVP-Networking)." wrote in message ...
