There's a tutorial on this site for enabling defragging of the boot files. Here's the link: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/15...e-disable.html When I look at my registry for these keys, the entry for OptimizeComplete is No, and the entry for OptimizeError is Error retry. The boot file optimization is enabled. Anyone know if this means it's not defragging the boot files? -- EPJ |

Well, I did a manual defrag of the boot files by entering defrag c: -b at the command prompt. This reset the OptimizeComplete value to Yes. I'll see if Vista can remember to defrag the boot files automatically. -- EPJ |
