Every time I looked at it checking the disk it would still be stuck on

Im assuming it got 'bored' of not 'doing anything' and just re

Did you run

CHKDSK /R/F

Assuming you did, then there is a known fault of CHKDSK not completing
that you can Google for

I ran nothing. I presed the on button and was watching it boot up.
Not pressigng anything
