Canon EOS 20 D
CrA-Z I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
CHANGING THE CONNECTION MODE TO PTP DOES THE TRICK!!!! ALL SYSTEMS GO! "CrAy-Z" wrote: Have you tried uninstalling the drivers completely, then changing the camera connection mode (in the camera) to PTP (i think thats what its called). This is how i use mine under XP. When you connect the camera it should be auto detected and then function under the 'camera and scanner wizard' or be accessible under 'my computer' Not sure if the dRebel has this function though. I have not tried mine under vista but if i do and it works i will post back here. Cheers "Dave Hampson" wrote: Woogbear, I'm seeing the same thing with my dRebel. I installed the XP WIA driver, and I get the same message. Help says it's supposed to pop up and say Import with Windows, or at least that's supposed to be one of the options. Hopefully an update is forthcoming from either Canon or Microsoft to resolve this issue. It's a showstopper for me. I'm running Vista in VMWare until I get all the drivers working. I know it's Beta, so it may not show up until just after RTM, but I'm hoping it's sooner. If anyone else has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Card reader isn't an option, it doesn't recognize the orientation of the pictures the way loading them direct does. Thanks, TowerDave "Woogbear" wrote in message ... I cannot get Vista to import pictures from my Canon EOS 20D digital SLR camera. The software from the CD installed fine. When i try to import the pictures from the camera, a pop up says, 'Microsoft office Document Scanning does not support this type of device.' I had no problem with the Picture and Fax viewer in Windows XP importing the pictures. Is there a work around for this? Am I doing something wrong? Please email me privately at; or post a reply here. Thanks, William |
