Hi,
I’m posting in this forum because I “think” the problem might be a networking one. After many trials and tribulations I have managed to get my I-mate Jamin (PPC 5.0) to sync with my brand new (2nd in a week cause the 1st was faulty) Acer Aspire 7720G running Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1 installed. However, Vista fails to find the PPC if it is connected to any other network, including my home wired and wireless networks. If I disable both connections, disconnect the PPC and then reconnect it 9 out of 10 times Vista finds it and syncs happily. What is strange is that sometime, sometimes only mind you, I can re-enable one of my network adaptors and syncing will still work, other times it drops almost immediately. I have installed WDMC 6.1 and tried the PPC on various USB ports on the machine. While connected to a network Device Manager shows a Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter #2 under Network Adaptors but not a “Mobile Device”. Control Panel - Network Connections shows an Enabled Local Area Connection 3 that is only present when the PPC is connected. All this sounds like a conflict to me but I can’t seem to work out where. Help me obi-newsgroupies-kenobies, you are possibly my only hope… |
