An upgrade Windows Vista license means you have to have
a qualifying older version of Windows installed in order to have a valid license. If you were to reformat your hard drive, then you need to install Windows XP, then perform an upgrade to Windows Vista. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience - Windows Vista Enthusiast --------------------------------------------------------------- "sammi" wrote in message ... i want to reformat my laptop. it originally had xp but i upgraded to vista home premium, if i reformat, can i use the vista upgrade again? on the box it says one installation on one pc. anyone shed any light for me |

You can reinstall on the same computer as many times as you want. On a side note, odds are that when you go to activate your new installation of Vista you'll be told that your CD key is already in use. Simply use the phone option to activate. Another thing to keep in mind is that since an Upgrade license is a retail version, as opposed to OEM, you can move it to another computer as long as you remove it from the computer it was installed on previously. Good luck Nepatsfan |
