Default Multiple networks detected in Network and Sharing Center

Managed to progress on this after much sweat and tears + some useful
hints from
"http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsvista"
(a great forum) and reading from the Vista resource Kit. My key issue
was with Norton 360 firewall blocking my home network. Check out these
two links:

http://social.answers.microsoft.com/...-81646328b9df/

and

http://social.answers.microsoft.com/...6-71b16e738933

Let me know if it helps.

Default Multiple networks detected in Network and Sharing Center

hi, i've fixed this issue, for me was not a problem because i'd still
could be accesing internet.
i got it after playing with ICS, enabled then disabled it.
go to network and sharing center, look for the duplicated network, click
on view status, then click properties, in the network tab look for
internet protocol version 4, then properties, look if in the default
gateway is any number in gray, if it is so, then enable use the
following IP address and delete the complete number (i.e. 192.168.0.1)
in the gateway if the ip and subnet fiel are full empty them too, then
back the selection to Obtain an IP address automatically, be carefull of
also selecting Obtain dns server address automatically. click OK, and
magically you will see no longer that disgusting phantom network.

hope it works for you.
