Default Issues with: SiI3132 - PCI Express (1x) to 2 Port SATA300

Hey everyone, first time posting here. Wanted to say "hello" and ask
for some help here. Maybe someone's had this same issue... Here is my
setup, first of all:

QX9770
eVGA 790i SLI
4GB Patriot DDR3
640GB WD HD
XFX 9800 GX2

I bought a CFI Enclosure off newegg.com and is of the type:

SiI3132 - PCI Express (1x) to 2 Port SATA300

I am able to install the card and seemingly install the drivers okay,
but whenever I use the RAID software from silicon image:

SiI 3132 32 & 64-bit Windows SATARAID5 Management Utility (1.51.8.10 B)

SATARAID5 Management Utility for 32 & 64-bit Windows supports RAID 0,
1, 5, and 10. Use this tool with the latest SATARAID5 drivers and BIOS.
Latest SiI3132 SATARAID5 driver:1.5.18.0; Latest SiI3132 SATARAID5
BIOS:7.4.05_;_ Please see the associated readme and the latest SiI3132
documents.**

The tool always gives me an error that no sil3132 drivers were found on
the system. The kicker is that I can see and use all four drives in the
enclosure but the java-based tool doesn't seem to be looking in the
right places for the drivers.

Has anyone else had this issue with sil3132 drivers? I'd appreciate
any and all help.

I had the same problem. Got mine from Memorylabs.

Turned out the card was not fully seated in the PCIe slot.

Yet, I could still see all four drives in the box via Device
Manager.

Reseated card--voila !! Good to go.

Look for posts about 6-8 (?) wks ago to see what happened.

Been using it for 6-8 weeks now with zero downtown.

Regards, Jerry

Hm... interesting. I thought about that but I found out it worked in
Vista 32bit without a hitch which leads me to believe it's the x64 OS &
Driver combination that's causing the issue....

I am running Vista 64 as my OS since November (new system
built to my spec by local shop), so I know it works. I did
download the newest driver set for Vista 64 from Silicon
Image, but not sure if that made a difference.

Hardware is Asus M2R32-MVP, AMD X2-5200, 2x2GB memory,
NVidia 8600GTS video card, and the SiI3132 to drive the box.

The OS is not seeing and matching the card with the
drivers--same problem I had. Keep playing with it. Move the
card to another PCIe slot. It will work--and it is great to
have that storage available.

Make sure the drive box is powered on when you turn on the
PC. Mine runs 24/7 (box and PC--plugged into UPS).

shamless bump...

(in response to Gerald, the setup worked with Vista x32... just didn't
work with x64)

Wasn't able to find drivers even though they were installed from
silicon image's website.

http://www.siliconimage.com/support/...d=2&osid =10&

Try this page (above) to download the newest set of drivers
and software for Vista 64. BASE driver and SATARAID5 driver.

Be sure to uninstall, reboot, and then reinstall the
software from driver files stored on your system.

Worked for me in mid-May, as I have the downloads on my
system dated then.
