I recently installed the hp machine and hp website seem to do everything to
update all of its huge software and the product works fine. However, a few days ago, windows update began sending this update: HP - Printers - HP Officejet J6400 series Download size: 42.8 MB Update type: Recommended HP Printers software update released in February, 2005. It fails and fails. I followed the ms update instructions but to no avail. Called HP and they say don't need it cause HP website is doing what it is supposed to, but don't know what MS is doing. Told me to ask MS. Yeah, um hmm. So, I wonder why ms persists in sending this three year old update. It is bothersome. And everytime I check for updates, it is there wanting to fail to load again. Any comments, help, guidance or suggestions? My machine has Vista Ultimate 64bit and this persistently failing update is the only issue. Maybe I can get microsoft to turn it off? Or, is it necessary to have loaded? Thanks for your thoughts, help, comments, suggestions... |
