Default DVD RW Drive won't read CD's or DVD's (HELP!!)

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium and the
DVD RW drive won't work. It's been working fine for over a year and all of a
sudden it makes a God-awful sound when you put a disk in. The
spinning-grinding sound goes on for a while then stops, but the disk is still
unreadable. I am able to eject the disks using the button on the drive.

The drive has died. You'll need to get it replaced by Toshiba.
