Hi Everyone:
I have 2 problems & maybe they are connected.. I hope I have put in correct forum. I have a problem with my Monitor Samsung Sync Master 2232 BW, I have been running this Monitor perfect using Windows XP. BUT When I recently upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium, what happens periodically when starting my PC, my monitor can not handle my display settings of 1680 X 1050, what I have to do is alter moniter display settings to 1280 X 1024, turn off PC, then restart PC then reconfigure back to 1680 X 1070 to get my display settings working again. Although the drivers are 100% up to date, can you advise what may be causing this problem. As this getts annoying having to reset & restart to get settings correct. I have a Dell Dimension 9150 with 2gb memory & ATI Radeon X300 X550 X1050 Series video card Pentium CPU 2.80 ghz - CPU 2.79 ghz, 160 gb hard drive. Also periodically when booting up the monitor will not show anything on screen, dont know if it has not booted correct or monitor display not working. Any help appreciated. Hi DL:
The drivers I have are all updated from when I installed Vista, but I believe I am still running Samsung original driver. How can I at this point update the drivers through Vista or winupdate? Thanks for the quick response. macman2007uk John Mac "DL" wrote: You updated the drivers from Dell, & didnt use winupdate or Vista default drivers? "Macman2007uk" wrote in message ... You don't want to update your video card drivers from your Vista install DVD
or from Winupdate. You want to get the latest Vista drivers for your card from ATI.com or from Dell. The MS install DVD or winupdate graphics and tuner card drivers are very often out of date or incompatible with other applications on a user's systems "Macman2007uk" wrote in message ...
