Default no audio device is installed

I have a Gateway notebook model #CX2755.
I have no idea what happened.
The last time I used my notebook it was working fine, including the sound.
But now there's absolutly no sound.
I even went to Gateway.com and
put in all my computer info then went to downloads and found SOUND.
Downloaded one of the applications and it said I DL the wrong one. So I DL
the other one and it said the same thing. PLEASE HELP!!!

Try running System Restore and restore it to a date before this
problem began.
