Some mice have chargers that you can dock it on. Otherwise, wireless
mice do usually go through batteries fairly quick. You can take them out
if you want to when not using it. I used to have a dock for mine that
charged the batteries, but now I bought AA rechargable batteries and a
charger for my new mouse.

Sorry it doesn't really offer much help...

Then it's probably defective - send it back or return it for
repair/replacement. Mine last well over six months when in use eight hours
a day.

I have a Logitech MX700 that sucks down the alkalines, but the
rechargables last a bit longer. Of course, throw in some dollar store
batteries, and I'm looking at a day or two max.

Normally, I'm getting a week and a half to two weeks average on quality
batteries.

I'm probably going to a newer Logitech wired mouse.

My Microsoft mouse used to tell me everyday that the batteries were bad,
when actually it was a weak signal. I moved the dongle to a new location
and now I have been using the same batteries for 3 or 4 months.

Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a
person to use the internet and they won't bother you for
weeks.
