Recently I installed windows vista ultimate 64 bit onto my computer. Previous
to this I had windows vista ultimate 32. My problem is, now that I have windows vista ultimate 64 bit installed I've lost internet connection to my computer. (Anyone who lives on the internet like myself, knows this is a definite problem.) I still have connection to every other computer in my house, so my guess is that it's not a network problem.(though it may be in a sense) I have my computer connected to a router via ethernet cable. I never unplugged anything in the process of installing windows vista ultimate 64bit. So, basically anyone who could give me any suggestions and/or directions on getting my computer to recognize my connection and network, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you |

Can you ping a web site, for example chicagotech.net? If yes, make sure you
are running IE 64 bit. Or this post may help. Please post back with the result. Vista 64-bit IE issue Windows Vista Ultimate 64 - Net MIA and apps crash Apparently that option which I use opens the 64-bit version of the browser. I tried running that manually and it works normally... http://chicagotech.net/netforums/viewtopic.php?t=964 -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "JAMES" wrote in message ... 1. If I was you, I would be looking at the Network Adaptor in my computer.
Have you been into Device Manager to see if it is supposedly working properly. You will have to find a 64 bit Driver for it, and enable it. 2. Is the router's Firmware up to date? -- Mick Murphy - Qld - Australia "JAMES" wrote: Recently I installed windows vista ultimate 64 bit onto my computer.
