Default 'Maxtor Shared Storage Plus' and 'Backup & Restore Center'

I have had no luck in backing-up to my Maxtor Shared Storage Plus, as Vista
requires a password and username - but won't let me use the accounts on the
drive.
Does anyone have a good solution for this problem?

Hi!

Have the same problem. Hope there will be a solution, fast. I think it has
to do with some Vista security features, since you need a username/password
on Windows XP.

My Maxtor is in the same workgroup and username and password are the same on
the Maxtor and the Vista-pc.

Reboot after the change.
