Default recording music from hifi

Hi does anyone know how to connect my ACER notebook 5920 to my hifi to record
my old cassettes onto cd,as i dont want to chuck them out,

Please not too much tech detail,just plain english please

Yeah you need to find what kind of connectors you have on the back of
your hifi (line out) and then connect it to the (Line in) of your
notebook.

You then go to the shop and by a cable that connects to both. In many
cases there are cables pre-made that will connect unmatched connectors
sometimes you need to buy an adaptor that connects to the end of the
cable so you can connect both systems.

What I have done in the past is the Headphone jack as a "line out" and
plug it into the "line in" of the sound card and bought a simple 3.5mm
stereo jack to 3.5mm stereo jack cable...
