Hello all
I have a new laptop, HP Compaq, running Vista. I have the volume level set on high on the task bar, and in the sound properties in the control panel, but all the windows sounds are hardly audible. i.e messenger (yahoo & hotmail), email notification, critical battery etc. All the ones I need to hear if I'm not right on top of the laptop. When I test the windows' sounds in properties in the control panel, they are fine but only then. Other wise they are so low I can hardly hear them. Other sounds are ok, like Windows Media player. Media on the internet. i.e video clips etc. Any ideas? Thank you |

JB, I am having the same problem. What sound card are you using? I am using a SoundMax card. I was wondering if this was a sound card issue or OS issue. -- bigjimz |
