Default Samsung Laptop Keyboard - sound keys problem

Having a problem, as of today, with the sound keys. Vista Home Premium
OS, Normally press Function button and right or left arrow keys to
increase / reduce sound. Today Windows installed an update, as a result
these keys no longer control sound. Arrows work, but not sound adjust.
Has anyone else had the same problem, or know how to fix please?

Use System Restore and use the nearest restore point before the update.
What is the KB number of the update?

Thanks for response Colin.
Unable to find the KB number as don't know how to find it. Last
restore point is not too recent, so only wish to do that if there is no
other option.
Don't even know if it is the update responsible, but just assuming at
the moment.
Am also getting some kind of incompatibility error message since
yesterday.

The sound keys are the only keys affected, and it is still possible to
adjust volume using the taskbar icon. This makes it sound like some
kind of issue with the keyboard setup, or if it is the Vista update,
something that has interfered with the assignation of keyboard
functions. Is there anybody else who has had a similar problem please.
