phone to format card) Whent ot move my music on to new card and Vista(Home

I cannot be 100% sure on this one but I would hazzard a guess that your phone
has formatted it to FAT and the PC wants it as an NTFS format. Or the phone
is using some kind of proprietory file system not comptible with the PC.

Thanks, but the 1gb card that I had in it was formatted by phone and it was
able to be read by computer. I still don't have a clue as what the problem
with Vista is.

Your phone only reads up to 1 Gig, so if you put in larger it will
format them at 1 gig. New phone time or live with the 1 gig limit.

It's the card reader, not the computer. A new reader should solve the
problem.
