Default Vista Problems

I'm running a Toshiba laptop AMD Turion 64X2 and Windows Vista 64 home
edition...Yesterday I tried to install the first service pack but my
computer died halfway through the installation because it got unplugged
and I didn't realize it...Now whenever I try to start it it just starts
flashing at ._0000000000000000.cdf-ms and wont even start...If anyone
could help that would be awesome...Also I tried to do a system restore
but it still just isn't doing anything...Someone please help I have a
lot of work on that computer that I really kinda need...Thanks a lot...

So unfortunate you're having a problem, mind telling us what the problem is,
exactly?
lol

If you do as fine a job reporting on your research as you've done
reporting on your problem here (virtually NO information!), it won't
matter... you're gonna flunk anyway.

Tap F8 right at power on, and see if you can get into Safe Mode.
If you can:
StartProgramsAccessoriesSystem ToolsSystem Restore Take it back to
before the prob started.

Do a system repair. it will reinstall vista(pre sp1), and leave all your
user files/programs unaffected.
The way it works is that it copies user files/folders to a space on the
hard drive then reinstalls windows, and then puts the files back.

To perform a system repair-
insert O/S disk, restart computer, hit any key at prompt to boot from
disk, go through prompts as if you were going to reinstall vista, at
partitions screen it will give option to reinstall or repair existing
installation. repair istallation.

I tried a system restore and let it sit there and run for close to 15
hours before deciding that there was no way it was going to do
anything...If you think it should take that long or longer let me know
and I'll definitely give it another try...But 15 hours seems like a very
long time for it to be working...Also I don't have an O/S disk as Vista
came preinstalled on the computer but found a system restore option
after it didn't load right it gave me the option for it...I'm completely
willing to let that system restore run for a week if thats what its
going to take but 15 hours just seemed a little rediculous to me to run
it...
